Nathaniel J. Bent, DDS
Practice Owner/Principal Dentist
Dr. Bent is the practice owner and principal dentist at Barksdale Dental. His practice philosophy is to provide predictable quality dentistry in a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere. In 2004, Dr. Bent graduated from the Baltimore College of Dental Surgery at the University of Maryland. Upon graduation, he completed a one year General Practice Residency at Christiana Care Health System in Wilmington, Delaware. Dr. Bent has an undergraduate degree from St. Mary’s College in Maryland. As a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and the Delaware State Dental Society, Dr. Bent completes more than 25 hours of continuing education each year to stay current on innovative practices available in modern dentistry. Dr. Bent lives in Wilmington with his wife, Maggie. He enjoys outdoor activities, golf, traveling, music, and art. He is a native of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.
Dr. Neil McAneny
Principal Dentist
Dr. McAneny completed his B.A. degree at the University of Delaware and D.D.S. degree at Temple University. He completed his internship in the U.S. Air Force at Laughlin A.F.B. Dr. McAneny is a member of many dental associations, which include the American Dental Association, AGD, DSDS, Omega Study Club and ICD. Dr. McAneny formerly served as a member of the Delaware State Board of Dental Examiners. He was President of the Delaware State Dental Society during 1994-1995. He is involved in community organizations which include Knights of Columbus and Delaware Pro-Life Coalition. Dr. McAneny provides long-term care to patients who value good dental health and appreciate our efforts to help them attain that. His philosophy is to treat each individual according to their individual needs and desires. Dr. McAneny is a native of Delaware. He has lived in Newark since 1972 where he lives with wife Bess and children, Neil C. and Maribeth. When Dr. McAneny is not busy with his patients, he enjoys boating, skiing, and seeing his seven grandchildren.

Glendy
Registered Dental Hygienist
Glendy graduated from Delaware Technical Community College with an associates degree in dental hygiene in 1997. She considers herself very privileged to be working for Barksdale Dental for 13 years and counting. She has built great relationships with her patients whom she has grown to care for; always making sure that their comfort and well-being is her main concern. She is married, has a teenage daughter, two step-sons, and two dogs. Glendy is also bilingual in Spanish and English.
Mindy
Registered Dental Hygienist
Mindy is a native Delawarean who has been part of the Barksdale Dental team since receiving her dental hygiene degree in 1999. She had aspirations of pursuing a dental hygiene career since high school wanting to be in a health related field and having a passion for dentistry. She enjoys the relationships built caring for the same patients since the beginning of her career. She loves being part of a hardworking team where everyone strives to make patients feel at ease while achieving their optimum oral health. Mindy is married, has a teenage daughter, and two dogs.
Our Patient Care Support Team
Jennie
Dental Assistant/Patient Care Coordinator
Jennie has been with Barksdale Dental since 1983. Over the years she worked as a dental assistant and quickly moved into the dual role of a patient care coordinator. Jennie’s skills are invaluable . She is the office go-to person. She is our “technical advisor” and “equipment specialist.” She helps out wherever she is needed. Over the years she had made many friends with the great patients of Barksdale Dental. She thinks of them as her extended family. Barksdale Dental is the best place to work because of the coworkers and doctors! She is married with two grown children and two cats.
